Both aobut the place you come to and also aobut the place you came from. As you dont realise what you have taken for granted until things arn't as they usually are. And you also find how easy you get used to such practical things as microwaveovens and dishwashers.
Anyways:
when me and a friend was going to have a look at her new apartment we thought we could take the lift up. We pressed the button and waited for the lift to come. IT didnt. Then we read the instructions next to the button. Apparently you had to hold in the button until the lift was there. Which we now did and through the glass door we could see the lift coming down. We opened the door and spepped in. The lift i so far had seen all had a roof and walls. this one didnt. It was basicly a platform that went up and down if you held in the button to the floor you wanted to go to. It was really weird holding in the button and see the roof some floors up coming closer and closer and not being able to lean against a wall.
It did teach me not to expect things to be as they usually are, as you never know

I think i turned totally crazy.
Earlier today when i checked my email, i read some ad from a travelling company. It said that you could go to Costa Rica as a volounteer really cheap for 8 weeks and try to save turtles and other eco things.
And i seriously started to consider it.
the school year is divided into 2 terms and each term into 2 reading periods. A period is aboubt 8 weeks. So with my fabulous logic i relise that i wouldnt miss much of the education, just one period and i can always study in the summer or just use some extra time until i get my degree.
I klicked the link and started reading aobut it. It sounded great! the plane ticket was really cheap (well for travelling ½ the world that is) but then at the bottom of the page there was the cost for the actual living there and all the activities. Silly me was thinking it was included in hte ticket. But no! it wasnt. and that made the price up up with about 200%. (so actually 3 times more expensive than it first looked)
There wont be any travelling to Costa Rica saving turtles for me.
Too bad because it sounded like a real adventure ( and an a lot more interesting adventure than the ones i this far have had with my freezer) and something really to remember and learn from.
Well, who knows, maybe something interesting happens when i go out today to buy a vacuumcleaner....

When i first came to my new apartment i thought i might turn on the freezer. I was really serious and looked in the instructions, it said everythign on how to set the temperature and how not to deforst it (as its a defrost-free one) and so on but it didnt say how to turn it on. It seemed like it was jstu to plug in the cord and it was done. So now the problem was to find the cord and where to plug it in. As sockets usally are some where near the ground thats where i looked at first. But No. No cord and no sockets. What to do now. I noticed there was a cupboard on top of the freezer. I opened the door but couldnt see anythign interesting there (as im not around 2 meter tall and couldnt see all the way in) SO as i had ruled out all other possible directions and as i wondered how well the person who had lived in hte apartment had cleaned the place before moving out i put a chair in front of the freezer and stepped up on it. And what did i see if not the cord and the socket! in the back of the cupboard on top of the freezer! After crawling around on the floor looking for it and in under the sink to see if it was possible there i was supposed to plug it in it was a relief to finally find it.

another interesting adventure i had with my freezer was when i today just tossed in a lunch box in the cupboard and totally had forgotten that as the cord goes up and in the cupboard thers a major gap between the back shelf of the cupboard and the wall. You can guess what happened... the lunchbox when in the cupboard and then to the back of the shelf and DoWn! So i now have a lunchbox somewhere behind my freezer.
I probably gonna get a new interesting adventure to try get it out of there....
